Such well-known conductors as Herbert von Karajan or Leonard Bernstein have given concerts here over the past 50 year. It is no coincidence that classical music lovers flock to the internationally renowned concerts held every year between May and September in the Kaisersaal of the Abbey and in the baroque Ottobeuren Basilica. An enthusiastic audience attends the organ concerts in the Basilica every Saturday afternoon. The Riepp organs have an excellent reputation and are considered to be outstanding examples of organ design.
